Last week I turned everyone on to a story over at the Poetry Foundation concerning Raymond McDaniel’s poetic appropriation of collected narratives and oral histories for his creative book Saltwater Empire dealing with hurricane Katrina. Clearly Abe Louise Young was angry and wrote a thought-provoking essays on the matter here. The response by McDaniel is here. If so inclined, please get in on the discussion either here or over there. I’d be interested in what you good people have to say.
